With over 1.2 billion people, Africa is the poorest continent on earth. Millions of Africans are afflicted with deadly diseases. Often, these illnesses are preventable and treatable. But without access to medical care, the sick suffer needlessly. And too often, they die.

People throughout the continent live without basic amenities many of us take for granted – food, sanitation, electricity and medicine. In some places, malnutrition and starvation are a constant threat.

On top of these woes, millions of families bear the scars of brutal violence and war.

Most tragic of all, many people – especially in North Africa – have never heard the lifesaving gospel of Jesus Christ. For them, the God of love described in the Bible is a stranger. And without the gospel, their eternal future is grim because they do not know God indeed loves them. Please pause for a moment to think about those in Africa who may not have many years left. Remember, eternity is forever …

Despite all the religious devotion to various belief systems, crops still fail. Bodies waste away. Violence tears families apart … many have reached a point of desperation.

After only a few months, our first congregation grew to more than 250 believers.

In short, many Africans are restless, searching for answers to these crises that have so long been unaddressed. Beyond their need for medical care, the people of Africa need to hear the good news of salvation.

Against this heartbreaking backdrop, GFA World has an unprecedented opportunity to bring God’s truth and healing to the people of Africa.

It starts in the African nation of Rwanda, where the Lord has been clearly guiding us and going before us. We’ve already established a young ministry through the support of our generous partners. Right now, we’re helping over 500 Rwandan children through sponsorship, education and food programs. We’ve launched outreaches to the nearby areas and worked with local officials to provide needed aid to a local relocation settlement. After only a few months, our first congregation grew to more than 250 believers.

All this was a prelude to what we know God is calling us to – establishing a medical ministry that will meet the widespread healthcare needs of people in Africa, and seeing churches established where there are none. As we learned in our years of ministry in Asia, people become wonderfully open to the gospel when their most urgent needs are met, and they see how much Christ cares about them.

Establishing our hospital and college will provide the foundation to launch medical missions throughout Africa. With the Book of Acts as a blueprint and the steadfast support of our ministry partners, committed medical missionaries will flow from our base in Rwanda to help establish churches across the continent of Africa, especially in areas that have been hostile to the gospel.

Imagine giving birth to a premature baby but having no incubator to warm your child.

The greatest cost involved in this endeavour is acquiring necessary medical equipment – the kind many of us in the West take for granted. This is where your partnership can make the most significant difference.

Imagine having a family member with kidney disease but finding no dialysis available. Imagine giving birth to a premature baby but having no incubator to warm your child. What if you did not have access to medical treatment essential for your family member?

Even things as basic as hospital beds, operating tables and X-ray machines are all essential to a functioning hospital. They all must be purchased – in our case, through the generous donations of our ministry partners. It is caring people like you who make all of this possible.

Right now, we have an amazing opportunity to minister God’s love and truth in Rwanda—and, in the coming days, throughout Africa. We have the workers; we have the ministry started; we have God’s leading and direction. It is crucial that we establish this hospital. Imagine looking back 40 years from now and knowing that you helped launch in Africa a ministry that shaped a continent. We must “work while it is yet day,” as Jesus said (John 9:4).

Can you help make this vision a reality?

Your gift now will help us launch medical missions across Africa while saving lives in Rwanda and neighbouring countries. You’ll enable the love of Jesus to spread in both word and deed.

Join us in this momentous opportunity; please pray for the needs of those in the countries of Africa who have not heard the Gospel – be assured a gift today will resonate through eternity.
