One Vision, One Mission, One Pledge

What is the greatest way we can live out our Christian faith?

This is a difficult question. With so many needs present in the world, how do we as Christians live out our belief in Jesus and his heart for justice? You probably have your own ways that you do this but, if you’re like me, I am constantly challenged by this question.

When tested by the Pharisees on the greatest commandment, Jesus said,

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself.” Matthew 22:37–39.

This is a vision and calling that Global Mission Partners (GMP) have been trying to live out for the last 130 years. Connected with faithful Christians around the world, we are working together to live out these commandments.

Faithful Christians like you.

We share this vision for the world with many people. Ever since our beginnings in 1891, we have been on this journey of mission with people across the globe. Loving our neighbours locally, nationally and globally has led us to many exciting and life-changing partnerships.

These partnerships share the gospel and bring people the hope of Christ. Focusing on outreach, we work internationally with local Christians to help their church communities flourish, partnering with what God is already doing in their community. We resource outreach opportunities, plant churches and equip emerging leaders.

We work alongside partners who show God’s compassion for the physical wellbeing of all people. We work globally with our local partners to end the cycles of poverty threatening their neighbourhoods. Dynamic, locally-led solutions help bring long-term change through practical activities. We focus on access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation, supporting sustainable livelihoods, investing in education, and relief during times of emergency.

In Australia, we stand with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through listening, learning and working with Indigenous-led churches and their leaders. We support the ministries of Indigenous churches, work toward justice together, and strengthen resources for Indigenous churches and communities.

This is our holistic and integrated mission. This is how we try to live out the greatest commandment of Jesus.

We’d like you to join us.

Why? Because the other important local partners in this ministry are compassionate and caring people like you. People who also seek to live out this command of Jesus. People who want to know, and be known by, others who share this goal. Who want to make a difference, sharing the gospel, caring for people in need and working alongside Australia’s First Peoples.

And these partners make amazing things possible.

It is people like you who enabled 157 future leaders to attend Bible college in the past year. Who have given 5,013 people access to safe water, some for the first time in their lives. Partners like you have helped kick-start a tailor-made program for emerging Christian Indigenous leaders to be supported in their ministry or mission training here in Australia.

It is people like you who bring their faith and compassion in order to make this vision possible.

We know this is a big vision. We also know that loving our neighbours – all of them – is a big task. But, step by step, we can take this journey together.

Connect with this shared vision and join in what God has planned for us, our neighbours, those across the street and across the globe. Join this one family in a holistic and integrated ministry that builds global church communities, empowers the poor and walks alongside Indigenous Australians.

You can do this with One Pledge. A monthly commitment to give towards this ministry and engage in the story.
