Journey to Bethlehem, the first ever live-action musical about the Christmas story, is coming to Australia. Written, directed and co-composed by pastor’s kid and four-time Grammy nominee Adam Anders (Glee, High School Musical), this is a Nativity story you have never seen before.
A Disney-style retelling of the story of Mary and Joseph’s romance and the birth of the Son of God, Journey to Bethlehem is “a highly enjoyable and joyful offering as a Christmas movie for all the family”, writes Anne Lim in a review of the film.
The dramatic, colorful film reflects Anders’ conviction that the story is a remarkable one worth retelling. He even calls Mary and Joseph “the original Romeo and Juliet” in an interview with Eternity.
