Voluntary Euthanasia for children?

Belgium is currently considering extending voluntary euthanasia to children, a move which receives strong criticism in this article on The Conversation by an Oxford Research Associate. While these kinds of laws seem a long way off in Australia, the tide doesn’t take long to turn. Read more here.

NY Times journos who posed as asylum seekers and came to Australia share their experience

One of the week’s most read articles by two NY Times journalists who made the incredible decision to pose as Georgians in order to experience people smuggling first hand. The two men arrived on Christmas Island by boat a few months ago before returning to the US to describe their experience. “How do you tell that [the prospect of being towed back to Indonesia] to someone who has severed himself utterly from his country, in order to reach another?
