School’s Ministry Group (SMG) offers ongoing pastoral and practical support through chaplaincy, Christian education and wellbeing services to school communities in partnership with the combined Christian community and other organisations. SMG is the employer of more than 300 Pastoral Care Workers in SA Government schools and is an approved Chaplaincy Service provider of the South Australian Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) through the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP). Role Overview

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the GM Partnerships is responsible for representing SMG and building and nurturing relationships with partners and donors, including enhancing current corporate partnerships and establishing new partnerships, identifying and building mutually beneficial philanthropic relationships, raising awareness of SMG and its Mission, as well as identifying alternative sources of funds, grants and other revenue streams. Fostering and maintaining productive relationships with potential sponsors, supporting organisations, relevant government bodies, churches, denominations and other related stakeholders is integral for the success of this position.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated high-level experience in the partnerships, fundraising and sponsorships fields;
  • Excellent and proven ability to engage with high net-worth individuals, partners, companies and community organisations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the grant application process;
  • Proficiency in the use and management of fundraising and/or CRM software;
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong time management, decision making and organisational skills.

The successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in Fundraising, Business, Marketing, PR or related fields, and have a high level of initiative and organisational agility. A personal style that models integrity, equity, fairness and transparency, as well as high self-awareness and a capacity to gain the confidence of others will be highly desired for this role. Previous experience working for a not for profit organisation will also be highly desired.
