The Royal Australian Air Force seeks to employ Chaplains on Part-time basis within the ranks of their Specialist Reserve. This is an exciting ministry without borders opportunity looking after the spiritual and emotional needs of members of the Air Force and their families.

Chaplains enter the Air Force as ordained ministers of religion. As such they are responsible to their religious authorities and remain faithful to their own traditions, whilst working in a team with other serving Chaplains.

Chaplains must be team players, willing to deploy and able to sustain themselves in the operational environment. All Chaplains are Officers.

An applicant for appointment as an Air Force Chaplain must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a three year Bachelor Degree (BA Ministry, Theology, Divinity or equivalent)
  • Be an Ordained / Accredited Minister of Religion in an ADF approved faith group
  • Hold minimum 2 years ministry/pastoral care experience

Reserve pay is tax free and on completion of military and initial employment training you could earn $262.19 per day. Locations currently seeking Chaplains are Townsville, Darwin, Melbourne, East Sale and Wagga Wagga.

Citizenship, security clearance, medical and fitness requirements will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
