Our Communications team are currently looking for a Communications / Advertising Manager to join the team. 

This role will be responsible for supervising the advertising content creation within the Communications Department and through effective leadership and strategic direction will be responsible for ensuring that all advertising and communications are created and released to proper specifications and delivered to our internal and external stakeholder’s on-time and at an excellent standard.

Through this effective delivery / management they will contribute to the strengthening of the Hillsong brand reputation and visual imaging. Working closely with Communications Director and the Art Director this position will create workflow strategies for communication and advertising projects; will be responsible for implementing and maintaining studio best practices in terms of the output multimedia deliverables, including print, digital, and social media assets. 

Other aspects of the role include:

Digital Communications Development

  • Responsible for developing new digital presence; increasing the digital engagement of stakeholders and the identifying and implementing of strategy around future potential digital communications opportunities.
  • This will include the implementation of new ways to communicate with our client base (largely church members) through email, social media, and digital communication; and through the strategic integration of best practices in our digital and social community engagement. This will be achieved working in conjunction with the web department. 

Team Leadership

  • Effectively manage, lead and inspire the team, including volunteers, whilst building and maintaining strong morale and unity.
  • Oversee the Project Managers and Designers to manage the day-to-day tracking and coordination of workflows and task completion of the department. This will be achieved through the effective management of the team in working at the highest level of productivity and creativity to achieve set advertising content production dead-lines and objectives. 

Financial Control and Improvement

  • Develop, implement and measure long-term strategies for cost reductions within advertising and communications projects and work with internal stakeholders in order to ensure strong financial control and adherance to or improvement of agreed financial targets for Hillsong related brand projects. 

Communications Project Management

  • Manage interaction and relationships of the team by working to dictate and set a project calendar, which has realistic expectations. This will include assigning resources, equipment and teams to projects and monitoring and tracking their progress to ensure that we meet all agreed upon targets. It will also involve at times revising and modifying the calendar as new projects or urgent jobs take priority. This will also require the research; management and analytics review of past project trends to create efficiencies in output of communications in order to capitalize on the understanding of our market and church calendar trends and to facilitate the meeting of communications and advertising targets.

Ideally the successful candidate will bring:

  • Education: Tertiary qualifications in Marketing / Communications or Business essential. Formal qualifications may be replaced by a minimum of 5 years work experience in relevant field.
  • Ability to lead and manage work in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential.
  • High level of attention to detail essential
  • Demonstrated work experience in sales, marketing or communications background essential.
  • Understanding of dynamics of work within faith-based environment preferred
  • Experience in digital advertising and communications considered advantageous.
  • Previous expierience serving in Christian Ministry would be desired.
