Scripture Union Queensland is a Christian not-for-profit with a heart for youth and children. We are the largest provider of school chaplains in Australia, and each chaplain is uniquely placed to support our children and young people as they navigate life’s increasingly complex issues. We run camps, community outreach events and At-Risk Youth programs, and offer nationally recognised training programs in youth work at both Certificate IV and Diploma levels.

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate IT Systems Administrator with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a positive can-do attitude for Information Technology.

Working with the IT Manager, the main function of the role is to manage SU QLD technology-based services including the implementation and documentation of IT Systems policies and procedures.  As IT Systems Administrator you will participate in regular review and analysis of systems performance and reliability reporting, and undertake maintenance and upgrade projects for standard operating systems (hardware and software).  This role will serve as a backup to other members of the Information Technology team.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing customer service in a fast paced working environment
  • Prior experience in working autonomously and within a team environment
  • Experience in successfully maintaining automated IT Systems
  • Sound knowledge of technology
  • Prior experience in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving end-user issues
  • The ‘know how’ in maintaining core back up services
  • The skills to quickly learn and understand software products
  • The ability to follow process, procedures and maintain documentation
  • The willingness to learn and adapt
  • Experience with Microsoft Products (Desktop OS, Office, Server)
  • Experience in the not-for-profit industry (desirable)
