The College is seeking applications from committed and dynamic Christian Teacher’s Aides/Library Technicians to perform the following tasks under the supervision and direction of the College Librarian and the Deputy Headmaster.

Reports to: College Librarian and Deputy Headmaster
Classification: Level 3 School Assistant, Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2017
Status: Full Time (Term Time)
Personal skills, attributes and expectations:
- Be an active Christian
- Teacher’s Aide Certificate
- Recognised ALIA accredited Library Technician qualification or higher, or be willing to undertake such a qualification
- Current Working With Children Check
- Relevant experience within a school library environment
- Advanced skills in using Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience using a Library Management System eg Functional Solutions Smart Suite and TV4Education
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and without supervision
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Loan, return, renew and reserve books and other resources
- Answer routine reference inquiries, and refer patrons needing further assistance to Librarian
- Promote library resources to other staff
- Sort books, publications, and other items according to procedure and return them to shelves or other designated storage areas
- Assist with internet and online database searches
- Process books and other materials including sheet music and instruments
- Design posters and special displays to promote use of Library facilities or specific reading programs at Libraries
- Undertake copy cataloguing and classification using SCIS
- Help with the Stocktake at the end of the year
- Help with Textbook and Instrument allocation and return
- Organise and maintain periodicals and reference materials
- Repair damaged books
- Deliver and retrieve items throughout the Libraries by hand or using a pushcart
- Work across the seven IRCs, maintaining consistency and professionalism
- Implement Library rules and procedures across the College for T-12
- Train other staff, volunteers and/or student assistants, and schedule and supervise their work
- Participate in Library events such as Book Week, National Simultaneous Storytime, and others as required
- Performing other duties as required by the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster or College Librarian
- Participate in College events and community activities
