About the role

We are seeking a customer focused IT Support Officer with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a positive can-do attitude for Information Technology.

Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be the first point of contact for SU QLD staff and Volunteers, providing IT related support by phone, email and through remote connection.  As the IT Support Officer you will be responsible for the initial, level 1 response to support tickets in the IT Support System.  This role will serve as a backup to other members of the Information Technology team.

The ideal candidate will have

  • High level of customer service and communications skills
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team environment
  • Experience in working autonomously and responding with urgency as required
  • Sound knowledge of technology
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand software products
  • Experience in instructing, training and equipping people
  • Ability to follow process, procedures and maintain documentation
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Experience with Microsoft Products (Desktop OS, Office, Server)
  • Basic understanding of Ubuntu Linux
