About the Organisation

Don’t just fight poverty, End it! Use your talents to make a difference.

Opportunity International Australia gives families the tools they need to work their way out of poverty. For a family in a developing country struggling to survive, a small loan can help them build a business and earn a regular income with dignity and purpose. Community development solutions are also provided to help overcome other barriers that often keep families in poverty.

The Role

In this role, you’ll be a pivotal member of our fundraising team reporting to our Major Gifts Director. You’ll nurture relationships with individual donors, grant managers and trustees of trusts and foundations, and inspire them to give generously to help families lift themselves out of poverty. You’ll motivate individuals to leave a legacy by leaving a gift to Opportunity in their Will. You’ll give awesome presentations and organise life-changing events. You’ll be living in Sydney and occasionally travelling to regional areas of NSW. Sometimes you’ll travel overseas to see for yourself how your passion and drive are helping families live lives free from poverty.

Benefits and Culture

  • You’ll be part of a stellar fundraising team driven to end poverty
  • Salary packaging benefits
  • Flexible working hours
  • Attractive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience
  • Convenient office in Sydney CBD.

Skills Required

You’ll have BIG ideas and even BIGGER talent as a fundraiser and communicator. You’ll be super motivated to discover new potential donors and you’ll nurture mutually-beneficial relationships with them. You’ll be a guru when it comes to navigating your way around a CRM and you’ll remember to keep it up-to-date. Your confident, proactive, mature and professional approach, coupled with the ability to work in alignment with the values of the Christian ethos that motivates Opportunity, will be key to your outstanding success.

Opportunity is a child safe organisation. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a National Police Check and adhere to our Child Protection Policy.
