Faith International Academy (FIA) is seeking trained teachers for a variety of positions. Teachers are responsible for teaching Biblical truth in their specialty area, as well as modeling Christian character. A trained teacher with experience is preferred. About the school

FIA is a private, Christian, international school located in Davao City, in the southern Philippines. Founded in 1982, it provides US-based curricula to educate children of Christian workers, expatriates and locals who are living in the region. It is fully accredited with ACSI and WASC, two accrediting agencies in the United States. Apart from an English-medium education, it also provides a range of extra-curricular activities, including an excellent sports program.  It prides itself on small class sizes and high levels of care for students. Graduating students are accepted to universities around the globe, including the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, South Korea and the Philippines.

 

About the role

FIA is seeking teachers with:

  • Evangelical Christian convictions and character, actively involved in church and committed to the work of Christian education.
  • Appropriate qualifications, training and experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to demonstrate flexibility in working in a cross-cultural environment and be willing to be involved in the community.
  • Be willing to incorporate cooperative learning strategies and ESL-sensitive instruction.
  • A current Working with Children Check as legislated.

 

Duties

Teachers will:

  • Plan, conduct and review classes.
  • Work within teams to complete administrative tasks.
  • Give and receive feedback on lessons and other duties.
  • Plan and conduct some school events outside of their classroom.
